MH'YA McLEAN
ABOUT | CV
After briefly studying Fashion-Textiles at Central Saint Martins at foundation, I realised that I would like to explore how fashion can be used to communicate and evoke thought through styling and creative direction. So trying to pursue this path, I ended my studies early to go on and assist.
During my time assisting, I have demonstrated my ability to learn quickly and deal with designated tasks efficiently. The dedication and commitment I have, coupled with my ability to show innovation and original thought, ensures that I provide invaluable support to those I assist within a short space of time. As a result, I feel that I have proved to be I am an ambitious, fast learner, dedicated to evolving as a stylist in the industry by being attentive to those I work with.
101- FM- LITTLE SIMZ
Back in May, I was given an amazing opportunity to style Little Simz's Music Video.
After receiving the brief I brainstormed the brands I wanted to get a hold of. Looked at family photos of to gain more insight into the clothing of the era and used that, plus the brief to base my looks on.
During the two days I had to pull, I contacted various PR companies and vintage clothing stores such as @nolicenceshop @Sanecommunications @Crepselect @Waveygarms @Exposure and a few others.
Throughout the day I had to prep the looks, steam and dabbled into hair styling as well to help complete the looks.
This being my first solo styling job, with a cast of 8 people, providing the artist with 3 looks and accommodating to surprise extras, I believe I excelled.
